Website feature: Albian ReGenesis

 The community has always been a spawning pool for great and ambitious projects. A great reason for this is the absolute moddability of the game, to the extend one might call it an engine more than a game. Some projects start from a sketch or idea, and simply move on to development from there. Others are meticulously conceptualized, redrawn and planned. One of the latter is Bifrost's great "Albian ReGenesis" project. Initially started with the idea to combine the background of creatures and creatures 2, the project has grown into a full conceptualization of a greater Albia, including the lands described in the "Mythography" document and areas seen in the background of creatures.

Enthusiastically interpreting design documents, Bifrost has used generative Ai to visualize a passionate vision of the world Albia could have been. The general debate on the use of generative Ai aside, Bifrosts usage is a creative and cheerful one, and it shows. Though the finished backgrounds for his tea temple metaroom and the combined backgrounds of creatures 1 and 2 were mostly photobashed from existing material, the tea temple has some generated decorative elements, and I suspect any following backgrounds will too. 

Despite the finishing of metaroom backgrounds no releases have been made so far but the concepts and the backgrounds themselves. Nevertheless, the design document is an impressive body of work, showing great dedication and creative joy involved. Various short stories form a story of how Albia became what it is today and has been before, telling of the transformation of most of the Shee into the Banshee, the banishment of the Shee themselves and the creation of the various races of Albia. 

Bifrost keeps steadily generating backgounds, assets and breeds, writing biospere details, weather and architecture. Completion of the project might take some time still, partially or full, yet the journey there is a pleasant one. The Albian ReGenesis rationale reads like an exploration we can all enjoy!
