The vague and mythical shee

 Who are the shee, and what does that mean for players?

The shee are the creators of the nornir, ettinae and grendels. Boredom has led them on a great exodus in search of a habitable round planet, rather than the coin shaped albia they hail from. They are a lost mythical race by the time the players arrive.

Or so it is said. The last part is without a question true of course. We see the statues, machines, buildings and spaceships the shee have left behind. This means that they did indeed exist and had left albia. The reason why they left albia is likely also at least partially true, the notes the lone shee left behind confirm the intention.

But might there have been another reason? Could boredom and the knowledge of a livable planet be enough of a reason for an entire race to pick up and leave, carrying all of their eggs both literally and figuratively in one basket?

What we know of the shees collective personalities though, it might well be the case. But for speculation's sake, what else might have motivated them? Calamities do not seem to faze the shee. Self preservation seems to have low priority, compared to tea or invention.

Overpopulation might have been a factor. Shee would presumably live at least as long as we humans do. The lone shee notes point out their own years are way longer than those of their creations. Whether shee even still naturally reproduce is unknown though. With test tube reproduction overpopulation would certainly be no issue.

The one thing I could think of would be space for their experiments. Albia is very limited in size obviously. A good part is ocean or desert and the ark is bigger than the laboratories on albia. Perhaps they thought the land was only big enough for one shee, intentionally leave the lone shee to his work and forgetting to tell him that.

Did the shee make the creatures?

The mythos describe them to be elf-like compared to a more human-like nornir race. The shee are simply an older race of which most has disappeared. Though they have fixed any flaw in their own ddna no mention is made of creation. By the time the player comes to albia all three creature races do require artificial tools to learn, feed and even hatch their eggs sometimes but perhaps they did have a natural origin. 

It is easy enough to imagine diminutive ancestors to norns that would be no bigger than a fox, cat or jackrabbit. But the shee themselves seem quite certain they created the norns in the first place. Perhaps they combined existing genomes on albia into one species or simply forgot how they twisted a norn ancestor.

Shee must have been somewhat judgemental of each other's experiments. The lone shee had experimented underground for so long that the others had build a spaceship, filled it with life, grabbed all their belongings and left. The banshee were presumably shunned for adding grendel ddna into their own, and experimented underground until they left albia via the warp.

The player has only one responsibility in this all. Clean up the mess this race of absentminded geniuses leaves behind every time. The shee leave devastated worlds behind, derelict ships, drifting cold and almost lifelessly in space. Only the player can clear out their toys, repair the ecosystem and breed the creatures back into the natural cycle.
